Metrics, filters and reading the workload column.
The work request register is the laboratory's job list.
The metrics
| Metric | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Open requests | Requests not yet complete |
| Ready for lab | Samples received and awaiting testing |
| Samples | Samples in the system |
| Pending tests | Tests not yet performed |
| Awaiting review | Tested, waiting to be checked or approved |
| Overdue | Past their due date |
Overdue and Awaiting review are the two that need daily attention — one is late work, the other is finished work that cannot be issued yet.
Searching and filtering
Search matches on request, project, job, client, report or location. The All states dropdown filters by New, Field Testing, Ready for Lab or Complete.
Reading the register

| Work request | The WR number and request type |
| Project | Project number, name and the job |
| Client | Client, and whether a report has been issued |
| Workload | Samples and tests, broken down as pending / review / approved |
| Due | Due date, shown in red when overdue, plus who it is assigned to |
| State | Current request state |
The Workload column is the most useful at a glance: 5 samples · 2 tests · 2 pending · 0 review · 0 approved tells you exactly where a request stands without opening it.
