Numbering reference
Every record prefix and format, and which number to quote.
Every record type in GeoCRM carries a reference. Any of these can be pasted into the global search.

Number padding
How many digits references pad to is set by Record number padding in General settings. A padding of 4 gives CALC-0005.
Set it before you start creating records — changing it later leaves historical references inconsistent with new ones.
Which number to quote
- To a client: the project number and your own report number
- To a colleague: the job number or docket number
- In a specification or certificate: the work request and sample references
