Managing investigation locations
Adding, finding, switching between and deleting locations.
A ground log set holds many locations. The left panel is how you move between them.
Adding a location
Click the + button beside the Investigation locations heading. A new location is created and becomes the active one.
Finding a location
Use the Find a location box. Useful once a set runs to a dozen or more holes.
Reading the location cards
Each card shows:
- Location ID — for example
BH11 - A field status badge — Planned, In progress or Complete
- Type and final depth — for example Borehole · 20.00 m
- Data counts — layers, samples and core runs
The counts tell you at a glance which locations are fully logged and which still need work.
Switching locations
Click any card. The centre workspace and the live graphical log both switch to that location. Your position in the Data tabs is kept, so if you are working through lithology across several holes you stay on the Lithology tab as you switch.
Deleting a location
The Delete button sits at the top of the Data view, beside the location name. It removes the location and everything logged against it.
