Creating a report
Starting a report, choosing a template and linking to a project.
Starting a report
Three routes:
- Create Report in the Reports register
- Add Report on a job — the report is linked to that job automatically
- From the reports tab of a project
Choosing a template
Pick the template that matches the document you are producing. The template sets the initial section structure, which you can then change freely. See Report templates for what each one contains.
Linking to a project and job
A report should be linked to the project and job it covers. This is what makes the job's resources — DCP tests, boreholes, photos — available to insert, and what makes the report appear on the project workspace.
If you started from Add Report on a job, this is already done.
The reference
Each report gets a reference on creation, in the form RB-12272-001 — the project number and a sequence. It appears in the register and on the document.
