Investigation settings, import and export

JSON import and export, per-tab CSV and the engineering state workflow.

The log actions menu, beside the download button in the top bar, holds import, export and configuration.

Export selected as JSON

Exports the current selection as GeoCRM JSON — the full structured record, not a rendered document. Use it to move an investigation between workspaces, hand data to another system, or keep a machine-readable archive.

Import GeoCRM JSON

Brings a previously exported investigation back in. Useful for restoring an archived job or transferring one between environments.

Investigation Settings

Configuration that applies to the whole log set rather than one location.

Per-tab import and CSV

Separately from the whole-investigation export, most Data tabs have their own Import and CSV buttons for lithology, samples, field tests and groundwater. Use these when a driller or subcontractor supplies data in a spreadsheet — importing beats retyping.

Engineering state

The dropdown in the top-right moves the investigation through Draft → In review → Final.

Treat it as a real workflow gate, not a label. Drafts are working documents; anything issued to a client should be Final, and should have been through In review with a competent person first — particularly where the investigation includes correlated sections or a 3D model, both of which carry interpretation.
