Linking a calculation to a project
Connecting calculations to projects and jobs.
A calculation should be linked to the work it belongs to.
Setting the links
Three fields sit at the top of the calculation:
- Title — name it for what it is, for example Shallow Bearing Capacity Assessment
- Project — the project
- Job — the job
What linking does
Once linked, the calculation appears on the project workspace under Calculations, and can be pulled into reports for that project.
The project workspace notes: create a calculation and select this project to connect it here. The link is made from the calculation, not from the project.
Unlinked calculations
A calculation with No project still works and still saves revisions. But it is invisible from the project, so anyone reviewing that project's design work will not find it.
If you ran a quick check that turned into real design, go back and set the project and job.
